- The Branch Sales Manager communicates the expectations to all employees in the sales department by reviewing the job description and communicating the vision and the goals and objectives of the company. The Branch Sales Manager evaluates and documents employee’s behavior, accomplishments, and performance for the purpose of employee evaluation and assists in creating an employee personal developmental plan with the employee. The Branch Sales Manager develops and executes the training program and ensures new and regular employees are effectively trained and competent to meet the expectations.
- The Branch Sales Manager provides leadership to the sales department to achieve the goals and objectives of the company and individual territories. This includes motivating employees to accomplish planned results by communicating effectively, team building, effective decision-making, time management, recognition, and inspiring the employees to accomplish the goals and objectives of the company and/or their personal development plan.
- The Branch Sales Manager must have strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills (oral and written). Handle conflict resolution within and between departments and ensure the resolution is handled effectively and professionally.
- The Branch Sales Manager must handle disciplinary action within the department including counseling statements, warnings, documentation of all disciplinary actions, and if necessary terminations. They must also create and maintain a teamwork environment within and between departments.
- The Branch Sales Manager manages the department to ensure that the policies, procedures, and that the quality management system are implemented effectively, and continual improvement is promoted within the department and the company. Reviews existing processes, data, trends and staffing, and make recommendations to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibility includes the creation and implementation of internal processes and procedures to reduce sales errors.
- The Branch Sales Manager must travel up to 70% with branch sales staff as an ongoing training/development plan of each individual to maintain energy, vision, marketing knowledge, sales abilities, and personal sales skills. This includes observing, developing, and improving the account sales representatives in the same areas.
- The Branch Sales Manager analyzes the market areas and provides a marketing plan/strategy in each existing territory to increase market share and tons as per the goals and objectives of the company. This may include gathering information from the market including competition tendencies such as, strengths, weaknesses, and external environmental factors.
- The Branch Sales Manager assists in the development of a marketing strategy for sales growth in each branch and individual territories of the division. This includes gathering information from competition, projected customer base, and distribution patterns. The Branch Sales Manager is responsible to ensure sales development and growth in new and existing customers.
- Participate in the development of presentations and provide an action plan to close sales in a professional, effective, and ethical manner. Make regular sales calls to ensure customer satisfaction and to increase and develop customer relationships.
- Provide a short and long-term sales budget/forecast to ensure fiscal responsibility within the other departments of the company. Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales growth.
Analyze internal and external costs and make effective decisions to ensure the profitability of the company. This includes reviewing relevant information and/or processes from other departments and the market to determine proper pricing and delivery issues.
