Blanchard Grinder Operator ** MUST HAVE ID or BLANCHARD GRINDING EXPERIENCE**

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with machining concepts and fundamentals or excellent mechanical ability.

Skills and Abilities

· Grind internal cylindrical surfaces.

· Finish cylindrical surfaces.

· Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.

· Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.

· Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.

· Mount grinding wheel.

· Dress wheel according to specifications.

· Use dressing devices.

· Lift or hoist workpieces.

· Confirm ground workpiece has the correct specifications.

· Change worn grinding wheels.

· Check grinding wheels for cracks.

· Utilize micrometers, calipers, dial bore gages, and preset gauges.

· Use proper wheel guards on all grinding machines

· Grind nonmetallic materials.

· Observe machine during operation.

Computer Skills

· Intermediate computer knowledge. Able to use Microsoft Outlook and perform basic data entry.

Principle Duties

· Complete Shop orientation program.

· Grind bores to specified tolerances.

· Inspection of jobs in-process and recording info on router sheets

· Other duties as may be assigned by the Plant Manager

Must be able to work mandatory overtime.
