POSITION SUMMARY
This position will have responsibility for supporting the Automation and Controls Team at Targa’s Mont Belvieu Complex. The individual is imperative to ensuring the safe installation, maintenance, and proper function for the DCS and PLC systems. This role is essential to the operation and reliability of Targa’s entire value chain.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Engineering or Technical degree from four-year college or university and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Ability to work program and troubleshoot DCSs (Distributive Control Systems)
•Ability to program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley and GE PLCs
•Technically competent with Microsoft Excel and Word
•Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
•Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
•Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
•Flexible during times of change.
•Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating (in communications with others including company employees and contract workers).
•Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
•Strong written and oral communication skills.
•Strong interpersonal skills.
•Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and finding equipment needed for a project.

•Technically competent or aptitude to becoming competent with ABB, Foxboro, Honeywell, Delta V Distributive Control Systems.
•Technically competent with Wonderware ArchestrA HMI software.
•Technically competent with Wonderware InTouch HMI software.
•Technically competent with Allen Bradley Studio 5000 Logix Designer software.
•Technically competent with Rockwell Factory Talk Studio software.
•Technically competent with network communications.
•Technically competent with communications protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, RS485.
•Technically competent with software such as Kepware, FactoryTalk Gateway, Matrikon OPC.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions
•Ability to frequently throughout the work shift, push, pull and lift at least a minimum of 50lbs to a minimum height of 3-4 feet and maneuver equipment or parts as needed
•Ability to work outdoors in changing climate conditions
•Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing
•Ability to climb up and down ladders, stairs and platforms at varying heights
