Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Automation Engineer position located in Carlsbad, NM. U.S. citizenship is required Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and control systems. The candidate will be responsible for design changes, following the Engineering Change Notice process. The candidate shall be able to create logic, program, and troubleshoot using RSLogix Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, Factory Talk View, and other PLC programming suites as needed. The candidate shall be able to interface instruments, field devices, and other equipment to existing site PLCs, and provide interface support with our site SCADA software (Ignition). The candidate shall have a technical understanding of interfacing with SCADA software. The candidate shall have a working knowledge of media conversion and communication protocols such as Modbus and TCP/IP, and their application to connecting PLCs and field devices. The candidate shall have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical instrumentation, actuators, and variable frequency drives. In addition, the candidate will be required to support other groups as directed. The candidate will support testing and commissioning activities as directed.
