Job Summary:
The Automation Engineer will have the duty of conceptualizing, designing, developing, and maintaining software and hardware for control systems. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of control system principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, familiarity with variable frequency drives, and expertise in industrial communication protocols. Their responsibilities will include maintaining existing software applications and resolving any reported issues with the systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Utilize a profound understanding of engineering principles, meticulous attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to successfully complete tasks across various disciplines.
•Take responsibility for the development of control algorithms, PLC software, HMI design/development, system architecture design, and the implementation of industrial communication protocols.
•Possess expertise in designing, developing, and applying control system theory to create software for both new and existing systems.
•Demonstrate the capability to comprehend and translate functional requirements into a system architecture, devising optimal solutions for large-scale implementation.
•Produce comprehensive design documentation, drawings, operation manuals, and other relevant materials for system code and hardware.
•Generate work tasks, coordinate the procurement and delivery of equipment and materials, and oversee the efficient installation and commissioning of software and equipment.
•Collaborate directly with third-party contractors.
•Exhibit the ability to work independently or as part of a team, effectively managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet demanding deadlines.
•Display clear written and verbal communication skills, promptly providing and following directions when collaborating with others.
•Proficiently utilize the MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., to develop presentations, correspondence, reports, and schedules.
•Be available to work on weekends and be on call after hours as required.
