About The Role
DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) seeks a talented and highly motivated associate to work on strategy, analysis, new market identification, M&A and financing transactions and support for all aspects of DESRI’s business.
What You'll Do
You’ll be responsible for building and reviewing financial models to support management investment decisions, with a focus on modeling project returns, optimizing capital structure, identifying risks and potential upside, and presenting analytical findings in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for leading due diligence and managing third-party deliverables through deal processes. You will also support transaction leads on negotiating definitive documentation for debt and tax equity financings, acquisitions, and opportunistic sales across both new projects and DESRI’s existing portfolio of projects in development, under construction, or in operation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have an undergraduate degree and at least one year of experience, as well as modeling capabilities, preferably in Excel.
- A record of academic and professional achievement, well-developed communication skills, the ability to collaborate well with a small team, proven organizational acumen when working on multiple projects, and a high level of motivation are all vital to this role.
- A demonstrated interest in and experience with renewable energy projects and/or electricity markets in the United States is preferred.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $100,000 - $140,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
