Associate Accountant

The Citrus Research Board (CRB) is a grower-funded California marketing order operating under the authority of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The mission is to ensure a sustainable California citrus industry for the benefit of growers by prioritizing, investing, and promoting sound science. We are looking for an experienced Associate Accountant that will assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, reporting, and other duties necessary.

Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):

· Prepare and enter bank deposits

· Maintain grant worksheets and prepare invoices for reimbursement

· Process incoming documents or electronic invoices for payment

· Maintain vendor files

· Assist with preparation of 1099s, interim financials, budget, and audit preparation

· Reconcile accounts

· Process payroll documents for submission and retirement contributions

· Prepare shipments, process mail, and assist with preparation for meetings as needed

The desired candidate will possess these qualifications:

· Degree preferred or High school diploma with 5 years of experience in a similar role.

· Highly proficient with QuickBooks and Excel

· Ability to multitask with an extensive chart of accounts and accounts payable vendors

· Experience with financial accounting and/or full-charge bookkeeping

· Excellent verbal and oral communication skills

· Ability to create and organize files

· Ethical conduct

This position offers a competitive annual salary between $53,000 - $58,000 plus an Employee Benefits Package.
