Overview:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting the controller with the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial statements and reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting and budgeting, and development and maintenance of a comprehensive set of controls and procedures.

Responsibilities:

•

Manages daily operations of the accounting department of approximately 10 people, including overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions

•

Assists with all general ledger functions for multiple-entity construction specialty contracting company operating in multiple states

•

Issues timely and completes monthly financial statements and supporting schedules

•

Prepares or supervises general ledger reconciliations

•

Assists controller with a variety of tasks and special projects as requested by management

•

Reviews and works to improve accounting procedures and internal controls

•

Assists with preparation of yearly audit schedules and help coordinate the annual audit.

Qualifications:

•

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area.

•

5 to 10 years of experience.

•

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

•

Excellent interpersonal and team skills.

•

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

•

Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

•

Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.

•

Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

•

CPA, CMA, MBA and/or construction industry experience.

•

Strong cost accounting knowledge and construction industry experience.

•

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

•

Climbing stairs.

•

Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

•

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

•

Quiet environment.

•

Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

•

0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Pay Range: USD $88,380.00 - USD $117,970.00 /Yr. EEO Statement:
