As an Assistant Construction Inspector at Mustang Special Utility District, you will be essential in ensuring all aspects of project execution, from initial planning through completion. This role involves assisting the Construction Inspector in managing project timelines, and resources to ensure projects meet all specifications and are completed on time and within budget. The Assistant Construction Inspector collaborates with various stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving. This position is critical in driving project success and maintaining high quality and safety standards. Your role is crucial in maintaining water quality and service reliability, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adhering to regulatory standards
- Project Planning and Coordination: Ensure projects are complete according to contract drawings and specifications. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all project elements align with organizational goals and standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate regular communication with project stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies. Provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all project deliverables meet specified standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high-quality outputs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, progress reports, and final deliverables. Prepare and present detailed project reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and outcomes.
- Timely Completion: Projects are completed within the established timelines, meeting all specified deadlines.
- Quality Standards: Deliverables consistently meet or exceed quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: High levels of satisfaction from stakeholders, based on feedback regarding project outcomes and communication effectiveness.
- Risk Mitigation: Effective management and mitigation of project risks, resulting in minimal disruptions or delays.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment. Participate in traffic control and set up traffic cones, barricades, and other devices as necessary.
- Required: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Required:Minimum of 1-2 years of municipality experience required.
- Preferred: Water/wastewater experience is preferred.
- Outdoor Setting: Required to conduct daily site visits and inspections, involving working in various weather conditions and terrains. Regularly interacts with contractors and stakeholders on-site to monitor project progress and address issues.
- Schedule: May need to work outside regular office hours to meet project deadlines or conduct site visits, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License before employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license within 30 days of hire per state law).
- Must pass a drug test, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check.
