Entergy’s Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, oil hydro, and solar plants, with a total engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. Entergy continues to build or acquire megawatts from new hydrogen capable natural gas units, solar, wind and other technologies complement its existing megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric, and solar facilities.
The Smart Operations Commercial Asset Management team manages a portfolio of multiple assets that are owned by Entergy but not operated by Entergy.Assets within this portfolio are as diversified in construction type as they are in function type and their status ranges from fully operational to active demolition sites.
Job Summary
Role is responsible for supporting the efficient and reliable operation of assets within Power Generation’s (PGen) Smart Operations (SMOC) commercial asset management portfolio.This includes supporting the management of commercial contracts and operating agreements specific to each asset’s unique role, managing portfolio financials and budgets through PGen processes and workflows,overseeing projects and work scopes throughout development and implementation processes, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with Entergy procedures and compliance guidelines (SOX, EH&S, NERC, etc.), and providing applicable subject matter expertise in support of reliable and efficient asset management.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Budget management support for site to achieve Net-zero impact in current year while achieving Power Generation targets in current year and 5-year plan
- Ranks and prioritizes safety, compliance, reliability, and financial risks using data analysis and historical and predictive maintenance information from both internal and external industry sources to support budget/project development, cost control for short range work plans, long range strategic planning, and execution of projects.
- Project controls support and management of various commercial assets and processes within the commercial asset management fleet.
- Schedules contractors to perform work and manages all associated project budgets. Closing out contracts and resolving invoice issues as needed. Participating in the Accrual process as required. Participating in the budget development process.
- Support equipment problem solving, condition assessments, root cause analysis’s and prepare reports for management use.
- Provide primary or backup technical support for various systems and processes. Utilizing outside resources, knowledge, and monitoring systems to identify potential improvements through trending and analyzation of performance data.
- Support technical lead on specific projects and compliance within guidelines of related areas (NERC, CIP, EH&S, etc.)
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience. - Desired:
- Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or B.S. Degree in Science in a technical field.
- Technical Support Specialist II: 2+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred. - Technical Support Specialist III: 4+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred. - Technical Support Specialist, Sr.: 6+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment. in all applications of the Microsoft Toolkit.
- Must possess good computer skills.
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision.
- Good communication skills also required.
- Duties often require call outs and work after normal hours.
