Seeking a motivated mechanical assembler that will support our finished product assembly with close attention to detail and maintaining superior quality control. This ideal candidate will work within a small team to produce equipment in support of our nation’s First Responders. Seeking a self-starter that will help foster a culture of excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety:
•The safety of our team members is of the utmost importance. This candidate will have the communication skills necessary to speak up and bring to light any safety concerns BEFORE they take place.
Quality
•Exceptional attention to detail and pride in one’s work
•Perform the final system test using company-owned equipment. Able to analyze failures and perform rework without explicit instruction on how to do so.
•Experience with powder coat paint quality a plus but not required.
•Experience with air leak testing also a plus but not required
Delivery:
•Assemble systems from provided work instructions and/or prints. Work closely with the Engineering team in the absence of documentation for prototype work.
•Support subassembly product line as needed to meet customer delivery needs.
•Experience with general hand tools (screwdrivers, torque drivers, wrenches, ect) required.
•Experience with simple wiring assembly strongly preferred (splicing, crimping and soldering)
•Package units after testing to ensure they are protected during the shipping process
Cost:
•Self-management of time is critical in this position. Able to work individually and as part of a team as needed.
•Alert management of any inventory or equipment issues as they arise.
•Strong attention to organization of work area to prevent downtime or misplaced inventory.
OTHER SKILLS:
•Ability to safely operate motorized hand jack. Forklift experience a plus.
•Use of various hand tools including manual, powered and pneumatic required.
•Basic understanding of drawings and work instructions.
•Able to stand for prolonged periods, up to the duration of the shift (minus breaks).
•Able to lift 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
•Strong interpersonal communication skills.
•Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) encouraged to apply.
•Electrical/wiring experience preferred.
•Soldering experience a plus.
•5S and Lean experience a plus.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Will consider absence of education for extremely qualified candidates.
•Minimum two years in any manufacturing field with a proven track record of reliability.
