RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled, blueprints or customer specifications
•Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners
•Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts
•Operates drill presses, pneumatic screwdrivers, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operations
•Fills out "Operation Card" with all required information for each individual job worked on
•Fills out job tickets and turn in on a daily basis
AUTHORITY:
•Obtain bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners required to complete job from the Tool Crib
•Works closely with Assembly Supervisor on a daily basis to expedite jobs that have been established as priority
NEEDED SKILLS, EDUCATION, OR EXPERIENCE:
•One to two years related experience and/or training
•Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
•Ability to speak and relate instructions effectively to employees of this department
•Must be able to effectively communicate with Supervisors and Management
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
•Ability to operate small hand tools and equipment as required by the specific job such as rivet guns, pneumatic screwdrivers, precision measuring equipment
•Must be proficient in use of metric system
ADDITIONAL NEEDS:
•Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
•Must have good foot, hand and eye coordination
•Must be able to stand for long periods of time
