Analyst (contract)

Job Summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a dedicated professional to support extension processing, reporting, and system documentation. This role involves researching participation within GIS, processing and tracking RFPs, validating refund eligibility, and ensuring the accurate closure of extension tickets. The successful candidate will gather and translate requirements into functional and process documentation while providing clear communication to internal customers and stakeholders. The ideal individual will possess strong analytical skills, experience with GIS and SAP, and the ability to manage a high volume of ticket remediation and reporting activities with precision and independence.

- Deliver clearly documented functional, system, and process requirements.

- Research GIS system data to determine new participants and validate extension activity.

- Run and analyze monthly reports to identify open or expiring extensions requiring review.

- Request, track, and process RFPs, including validation of addresses and returning customer checks.

- Ensure proper refund amounts are calculated and processed accurately.

- Close out 150–200 extension tickets per quarter (~75/month) in the ETP system with detailed notes and remediation.

- Communicate findings and updates with internal customers in a clear and timely manner.

- Evaluate information from multiple sources (reports, workflows, system analysis) to refine requirements and processes.

- Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline extension review and refund processing.

Skills

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Proficiency in GIS systems (Smallworld preferred).

- Experience with SAP for data management.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and reporting functions.

- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

- Ability to work independently while managing a high volume of tickets and reporting tasks effectively.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.

- 2–5 years of GIS experience (Smallworld preferred).

- SAP experience required.
