Job Summary
This IT Advisor position is part of the Network Operations team and will help support Continental’s data center, corporate, and field network. This position is hands-on, meaning the candidate will be performing configuration, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance on the company’s routers, switches, and firewalls. The IT Advisor occupies a critical role within their area of expertise by providing architectural direction to optimize hardware and software technology usage. Guided by the directives of both IT Management and IT Principal Architects, they ensure alignment of solutions with strategic roadmaps.
Duties And Responsibilities
•Fosters development, adoption, and assurance of technology standards
•Collaborates with peers to select, implement, and manage technologies within established frameworks
•Demonstrates technical architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, test, and development platforms running in 24x7 environments.
•Participates in the development of architectural strategy with other advisors, including technology strategy, standardization, and modernization.
•Mentors other advisors, and analysts to elevate and inspire others while fostering a collaborative environment.
•Analyzes business and technical requirements to determine system design, potential issues, and related cost for each project request.
•Develops implementation strategies that preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems while keeping within cost constraints.
•Works with vendors, outside peers, and other industries to evaluate and discuss problems and solutions.
•Leads assessments and evaluations of complex problems and solutions, which requires strong collaboration and communication skills across varying levels within the organization.
•Prepares and presents recommendations with supporting analysis for consideration by IT Leadership.

Skills And Competencies
•Demonstrated technical architectural knowledge
•Familiarity with network services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, NAC (802.1x), RADIUS, TACACS, QoS, VPN, VoIP, VxLAN).
•Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
•Experience or familiarity with Next Generation Firewalls, Cisco, and Palo Alto.
•Experience with internal and external load balancing technologies like Netscaler, F5, Cloudflare, etc.
•Skilled in automating network processes through scripting in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
•Expert level knowledge of Layer 2 and 3 technologies (OSPF, BGP, vPC, Spanning Tree, VXLAN/EVPN, IPsec, multicast) and other complex network protocols that are required to ensure optimal network operations.
•Strong experience with Cisco routers and switches (IOS-XE, NX-OS), Cisco security appliances (FirePower, ASA, AnyConnect), Palo Alto products (Panorama, NGFWs, Prisma Access/Cloud), Network Access Control solutions (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass), and NetScaler load balancers is essential.
•Demonstrated experience with modern Cloud Infrastructure / Campus Enterprise and Data Center Network Design / SD-WAN / Security Architecture releases and implementations. Demonstrate technical architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of
Required Qualifications
•Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as a Network Analyst or related role
•General understanding of server OS functionality and operation of core services, IIS, file shares, and permissions.
•An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field from an accredited college or university.
•Experience within the oil and gas Industry
•Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or demonstrable experience.
•Additional certifications or demonstrable experience in other networking technologies, such as Aruba, Palo Alto, or Netscaler.
•Experience with VoIP, especially migrations from on-prem to cloud.
