The Accounting Manager is a key member of the finance team responsible for accounting operations, including managing the accounts payable function, fuel inventory accounting, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, drives process improvements, supports budgeting and forecasting processes, and provides insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and controls.
- Manage accounting for fuel inventory, including tracking purchases, usage, reconciliations, and adjustments to ensure accurate valuation and reporting of inventory balances.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation schedules, disposals, and periodic physical inventory audits to ensure proper recording and reporting of fixed assets.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable (AP) team to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments.
- Review and enforce internal controls related to disbursements.
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate payment terms when necessary.
- Monitor and analyze AP aging reports to ensure proper cash flow management.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of AP automation tools and ERP systems.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and financial models.
- Perform variance analysis against budget/forecast and provide insights to management.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
- Partner with business units to provide financial guidance and identify areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Support scenario modeling, capital planning, and strategic initiatives.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing an Accounts Payable team and overseeing payment cycles.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting, preferably including fuel or other commodities.
- Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis tools.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
