About This Job


Summary of Position:

Under general supervision the Accountant II performs a variety of accounts payable tasks related to the coding and processing of payable account records and invoices. This position is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. This includes monitoring payments and expenditures. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential for the position.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

Code verify invoices in Open Invoice, sending to appropriate approver
Scan and index invoices received by mail or email into Open Invoice
Work with field staff to obtain proper coding into Bolo accounting system
Respond to vendor calls/assist vendors with invoicing/coding/routing questions
Research past due invoices/ duplicate invoices/ rejected invoices/incorrect payments
Communicate with vendor by phone or email about inquiries on payment status and statements
Create spreadsheets, file documents, maintain and distribute accounting documents, records and reports.
Receives, researches and resolves a variety of internal and external inquiries/audits
Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department and Field Staff

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies* Proficient in Microsoft 360 products (Outlook, Excel, Word) required with advanced skills in Excel in particular.

OpenInvoice Experience preferred.
Takes ownership of projects and responsibilities, displaying a high level of accountability and initiative.
Ability to work efficiently independently as well as effectively within a team environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse audiences.
Meticulous attention to detail, consistently ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
Strong organizational and time management skills, enabling efficient planning and execution of work to meet established deadlines.
Demonstrates unwavering high integrity and consistently upholds ethical standards while maintaining a strong work ethic to ensure the highest level of trust and accountability in all responsibilities.
Utilizes exceptional critical thinking skills to analyze complex problems, assess various perspectives, and develop innovative solutions that drive informed decision-making and enhance overall organizational efficiency.

Education & Experience:* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent of an additional 5 years of experience required.

Minimum of 3 years of AP experience Required.
Oil & Gas experience preferred.


Travel & Additional Requirements:

Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
