Who We Are Looking For:
Phoenix Tailings is looking for a bold, strategic, and mission-driven VP of Finance with a core focus on fundraising and capital strategy. This role is critical to securing the financial resources necessary to scale our revolutionary clean metals technology, helping reshape the global metals supply chain. The ideal candidate will be the driving force behind building and maintaining investor relationships, securing funding, and positioning Phoenix Tailings for long-term financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute capital fundraising strategies across equity, debt, and non-dilutive funding channels
- Develop financial materials for investor meetings, including pitch decks, data rooms, and detailed financial models
- Build and maintain strong relationships with venture capital, private equity, corporate partners, government funding bodies, and other capital sources
- Partner directly with the CEO and executive team to drive capital strategy aligned with company milestones and growth trajectory
- Oversee financial due diligence processes for new funding rounds and strategic partnerships
- Track key financial and operational metrics to support valuation modeling, investor communications, and deal negotiation
- Build Phoenix Tailings’ fundraising narrative, connecting technical innovations with clear financial and strategic value
- Manage investor communications post-funding, including reporting, compliance, and milestone tracking
- Design and refine funding strategies to ensure capital efficiency and financial runway for growth and technology development
- Support government grant and incentive applications tied to clean energy and critical minerals initiatives- 10+ years of experience in finance, with a significant focus on capital fundraising, corporate finance, or investment banking
- Proven track record raising institutional capital, ideally in clean-tech, deep-tech, or capital-intensive industries
- Deep understanding of early-stage fundraising dynamics, term sheets, and cap table strategy
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and presentation skills tailored to investors and strategic partners
- Experience managing relationships with VCs, PEs, family offices, government entities, and alternative funders
- Ability to lead high-stakes negotiations and communicate complex financial strategy with clarity
- Demonstrated success aligning financial strategy with company vision and growth goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field (MBA preferred)
