The primary responsibility is to ensure the highest quality products are manufactured and supplied. This involves a blend of hands-on measurement, coordination, and quality control.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in quality control and measurement, with both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
- Measurement and Metrology: You'll be responsible for planning and executing measurements for serial production, performing capability and cleanliness studies, and implementing new metrological methods. This includes working with engineering on new projects, performing measurement correlations with customers, and creating correction reports.
- Quality Coordination: You'll coordinate quality activities across all shifts, ensuring alignment and communication. This involves monitoring serial production, performing routine and incoming inspections, and following up on the shop floor to ensure proper documentation and gauges are used.
- Problem-Solving: A key part of the job is identifying the root cause of quality issues in manufacturing and participating in the handling of customer complaints. You'll support production in process optimization and systematic analysis of technical processes.
- Training and Support: You'll train staff on metrology topics and provide backup support for CMM operators. The role also involves acting as a catalyst for change within the APS framework, transmitting necessary skills and knowledge to peers.
- Gauge Management: You'll participate in defining test requirements and approving test systems and devices in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Education: A High School Diploma is the minimum requirement.
- Experience: At least two years of experience in a quality-related role and two years of experience using measurement tools.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various testing and measuring equipment is essential. Knowledge of specific equipment like Brown & Sharpe, Babtec, and Zeiss is preferred. You should also have an understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Software: Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, are necessary for documentation and reporting.
- Other Skills: A solid grasp of basic math and the ability to read blueprints are required. You'll also need strong communication skills for coordinating with different teams and shifts.
