80% of work day is spent in the booth, coating parts
- Apply powder coat to parts on the conveyor.
- Perform color changes and refill powder hoppers.
20% of work day is spent on the line
- Load and unload parts on conveyor hangers, manually or with forklift.
- Pack finished parts for shipment. Apply required part markings and tags.
- Move packed parts to finished goods designated staging area.
- Organize and maintain supplies: powders, chemicals, hooks, masking tapes, etc. Notify manager when levels are low.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues, or seek assistance.
- Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload conveyor system, and move raw parts and finished goods.
- Follow written procedures and work instructions and complete production paperwork accurately.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
- Understand and support company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
- Prior experience with powder coating or painting.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, safety requirements of all phases of powder coating operations.
- Ability to appropriately prioritize workload in response to scheduling changes.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Basic understanding of shop math.
- Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.
- Lift, carry, push and or pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
- Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing as required. NOTE: Some job functions require the use of chemical gloves and boots, chemical apron, and goggles.
