About This Job

Brief Description: The desired candidate will have experience as a Wire Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Use prints and instruction guides to perform the set up and operation of one or more rolling mills using a variety of steel to produce numerous wire sizes.

Key Accountabilities:

•

Follow proper procedure for the set up and operation of rolling mills to produce wire sizes according to the prints and specifications.

•

Ability to read technical publications / Prints.

•

Inspect wire during production run to assure quality standards using gauges and micrometers.

•

Adjust machine and related equipment during production run to maintain quality standards.

•

Load and unload wire from machines by hand or overhead cranes.

•

Perform sharpening of tools when necessary.

•

Correct minor mechanical trouble and tool trouble as needed.

•

Identify and tag finished product.

•

Grind rolls for taper as needed.

•

Understand the principles of SPC charts and complete required paperwork.

•

Complete all required paperwork associated with operator’s responsibilities.

•

Keeps work area clean and organized.

•

Perform assigned Quality System functions.

•

Responsible for total quality of products and services and authorized to stop work when a non-conformance is noted.

•

Strictly adhere to all documented work procedures.

•

Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity.

•

Knowledge of standard inspection equipment measuring allowable acceptance (.00005 to .001).

•

High School diploma or equivalent required.

•

Preferred 3+ years’ experience in a close tolerance manufacturing environment.

•
Analytical Aptitude.

•

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
