Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for water main welding and fabrication in support of underground utility installations and pipeline construction. This role demands advanced SMAW (stick welding) proficiency, knowledge of the ability to work in variable and demanding conditions. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skills, adaptability, and professionalism while contributing to safe and efficient field operations.
Duties
•Perform SMAW (stick) welding on mild steel pipe structures for utility infrastructure.
•Fabricate and modify pipe fittings and components using torch cutting and shop tools.
•Read and interpret construction blueprints, welding symbols, and shop drawings.
•Assist with jobsite setup and prep work in support of welding operations.
•Load, secure, and haul materials or equipment using trucks and trailers.
•Strap down loads safely for transportation; perform visual load checks.
•Operate forklifts and other site equipment (as trained and certified).
•Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on welding equipment.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area.
•Travel to job sites regionally or nationally and support emergency/on-call work as needed.
•Communicate professionally with contractors, field crews, and supervisors.
•Support other field technician tasks as assigned, including pipe prep and equipment handling.
Requirements
•2+ years of consecutive welding experience; SMAW proficiency required.
•2+ years of fabrication experience (pipe and utility-related preferred).
•Ability to read and apply blueprints and weld symbols to work product.
•Familiarity with industry welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, API 1104 preferred).
•Experience with cutting torches, grinders, and standard welding tools.
•Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces and varied weather.
•Comfortable with travel, long shifts, and responding to emergency calls.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
