Welder - Pressure Class "A"

Our location in Kamloops is looking to hire Pressure Welders Class “A”. This position would perform general CWB welding as well as pressure code welding to ASME specs and others as applicable.

Progressive Rubber Industries is a leader in the manufacturing of abrasion and corrosion resistant components for Mining and other industries and we are looking for full time, reliable employees to join our established team.

Requirements and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Current Class “A” pressure endorsement from BC Technical Safety.

- Must have a ITA “A” or “B” stamp or Red Seal.

- Welding to CWB standards and Applicable Pressure Code Standards.

- Must have a government issued logbook for record keeping.

- All certifications must be kept current.

- Fill out all QC paperwork completely in full as required.

- Ensuring all welding wire, rods and other consumables are appropriate for the job before use.

- Fitting and tacking, as necessary.

- Must wear all required PPE and follow all safety policies and procedures.

- Must have a less than 2% absentee rate.

- Must be able to work independently, stay on task, be efficient and adhere to time sensitive schedules.

- Have a high skill level with a proven track record of high quality and on time task completion.

- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.

- Attention to detail and time management skills.

- Personable in dealing with coworkers and supervisors.

- Must participate in audits, procedure qualifications and testing.

- Forklift and Crane and Rigging an asset but not required.

- Physically fit.

Working conditions:

- Will likely be required to work overtime.

- Efficient stress management to achieve 100% x-ray weld quality.

- Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments.

- Will perform work on a welding positioner.

- May be required to work on day shift or afternoon shift.

IMPORTANT NOTE

· Will need to do a test sample to be bent and visually inspected in house to verify competency prior to being selected for the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
