Why This Role Matters
As a Welder at WDS, you’ll put your mechanical skills, craftsmanship, and quick thinking to use across a wide variety of projects. From welding and fabrication to troubleshooting equipment and assisting with repairs, your work directly supports the safety, efficiency, and success of our operations!
What You’ll Be Doing
•Perform a wide range of welding tasks with precision and care.
•Repair and maintain gearboxes, skid loaders, and assist with truck and diesel equipment repairs.
•Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and use your mechanical know-how across various shop tasks.
•Operate essential equipment such as overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
•Interpret blueprints, read plans, and communicate effectively with the Shop Foreman.
•Keep equipment in top shape—report damage, assist the Mechanics, and follow all safety procedures.
•Track your time and report project progress weekly.
•Contribute to a productive and team-oriented environment.
What We’re Looking For
•Solid welding skills and experience in a mechanical setting.
•Working knowledge of diesel systems, hydraulics, and general equipment repair.
•Strong mechanical aptitude—you’re the go-to person for hands-on problem solving.
•Ability to read and interpret measuring tools and blueprints.
•Self-starter mindset with strong accountability and attention to detail.
•Physical ability to bend, lift (50+ lbs.), and move materials throughout the day.
The Fine Print
•Reports To: Shop Foreman
•Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
•Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7am-5:30pm (weekends are always optional!)
