What to Expect:
The Developer works closely with the operations and IT team to develop and maintain our internal software systems, streamline workflows, and help us scale for growth. This position is for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, solving real-time system problems, and building tools that have a direct business impact.
Responsibilities:
•Design, develop, test, and deploy web-based applications to support internal business processes.
•Maintain and improve existing codebases and platforms to optimize performance, usability, and reliability.
•Collaborate with other departments to gather requirements and deliver software solutions aligned with business needs.
•Develop and maintain integrations with third-party platforms, such as utility meter systems, billing software, and API services.
•Build automation tools to reduce manual tasks and improve operational efficiency across departments.
•Database Management and Reporting
•Create and manage database structures that support accurate data collection, processing, and reporting.
•Build and maintain custom queries and reports for internal teams and stakeholders.
•Documentation and Knowledge Management
•Document software architecture, workflows, and feature specifications to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.
•Develop and maintain technical documentation regarding exports
•Cross-Team Collaboration and Support
•Partner with the IT and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
•Provide updates and communicate status during projects, deployments, and issue resolution.
•Assist with user training and support during software rollouts or upgrades.
•Continuous Improvement and Research
•Stay informed on industry trends, development tools, and technologies relevant to the submetering and utility billing sector.
•Make recommendations for software or process improvements based on user feedback and system analysis.
•Participate in code reviews and collaborate on team development standards.
•Participate in project planning and contribute to technical strategy discussions.
•Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
•2+ years of software development experience preferred
•Proficiency with at least one programming language (.NET, C#).
•Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL; T-SQL) and API integrations.
•Experience with web application development frameworks (Bootstrap).
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Experience in utility billing, IoT systems, or embedded hardware integrations is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
