WHUD is hiring a Utility Engineer
to lead development projects and ensure the performance of its water distribution system. This role involves hydraulic modeling, infrastructure planning, field inspections, and coordination with regulatory agencies ideally for engineers with water utility experience who want to make a meaningful impact.
- Review and approval of engineering plans, designs, and specifications for water infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations, tanks, and related systems
- Hydraulic modeling and analysis to assess system capacity and performance
- Project management from planning through completion, including scheduling and resource coordination
- Coordinate permitting and erosion control measures with state and local environmental agencies
- Perform onsite utility inspections as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Minimum two years of experience in water/wastewater utility operations
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and analysis
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
- Experience with GIS tools and mapping resources
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check and drug screen

This role involves both office and field work, including physical activity such as walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to outdoor conditions. Emergency response duties may be required during natural disasters or other critical events.
