Position Summary

We are hiring experienced Water & Wastewater Plant Operators (Circuit Riders) for our sites in Southern Maryland. In this role, you’ll be essential to daily operations — operating, monitoring, and maintaining treatment facilities to uphold regulatory compliance and deliver outstanding service to our clients. We offer competitive pay for Water Treatment Operators, based on each candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate, monitor, and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems and equipment.

- Perform routine inspections, testing, and adjustments to maintain water and effluent quality.

- Carry out maintenance and repairs on pumps, treatment units, distribution, and collection systems.

- Monitor, record, and report operational data and system performance.

- Respond promptly to alarms, service interruptions, and emergencies.

- Collect and analyze samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

- Complete and submit accurate reports to regulatory agencies.

- Work collaboratively with the team to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.

- Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent (relevant college coursework or certifications preferred).

- Valid state/local certification as a Water and/or Wastewater Operator (per local requirements), preferred but company is willing to assist in applying for an operator in training license while providing hand on training.

- Demonstrated experience operating water and wastewater systems.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent record-keeping, organizational, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing site conditions.

- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Pay: $18.50 - $29.00 per hour
