Pure Blue Tech is seeking a Water Treatment Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing tech startup. In this role, you will lead the hands-on modification, maintenance, and operation of reverse osmosis water systems and the experimental design and analysis of tests. This role encompasses mechanical, electrical, and operational responsibilities required to keep our test skids operating reliably and accurately. Pure Blue Tech is a membrane and water treatment technology innovator and manufacturer with the mission of reducing the cost of treating and reusing water. The startup was founded to develop and commercialize patented fouling reduction technologies for industrial and municipal applications. These technologies will increase clean water productivity, enhance efficiency, and reduce cleaning and maintenance. - Improve, operate, maintain, and build mechanical and electrical components of reverse osmosis water treatment systems.
- Develop testing protocols aimed at understanding technological differences in reverse osmosis elements. Including researching test methodology, understanding product parameters, and creating testing plans/protocols.
- Operate water treatment systems. Including running tests, performing system cleanings, creating feedwaters, and monitoring and treating wastewater discharge.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with the water treatment system.
- Maintain equipment to maximize uptime. Including preventative maintenance and sensor calibrations.
- Utilize data tools and spreadsheets to organize and prepare test results.
- Perform all water and waste sampling, lab testing and meter readings to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment and follow all safety guidelines.
- Flexible and able to carry out general electromechanical tasks across the facility.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Water Treatment Experience: 2+ years’ experience in maintaining, fixing, and operating reverse osmosis or similar systems. - Experience: 3+ years of experience in the field using mechanical principles and/or extensive relevant training.- Test/Experiment Design: Experience iterating and developing testing protocols for product and system evaluation.
- Independence: Ability to work independently once trained.
- Ownership: Takes ownership of completed work and is accountable for outcomes. Self-aware and willing to ask for assistance when needed.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong aptitude for innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Adaptability: Comfortable and effective in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Physical Capability: Physically capable of standing for an entire 8-hour shift and lifting up to 50 lbs.
