Overview:

Greenville Utilities Commission is a leading provider of clean and safe drinking water, committed to ensuring the highest standards of water quality for our community. Our state-of-the-art water treatment facility is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Water Quality Laboratory Team!

As a Water Quality Laboratory Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in water quality testing and analysis, supporting our mission to deliver safe drinking water. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic laboratory environment, contributing to critical processes that impact public health. The internship will also spend time learning other facets of the water treatment processes from Operations and Maintenance perspectives.

Job Duties:

•

Assisting in conducting chemical and microbiological analyses of water samples.

•

Support laboratory staff in monitoring water treatment processes and data collection.

•

Perform routine equipment inspections and calibrations under limited supervision.

•

Prepare reports and document findings to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

•

Participate in special projects related to water quality assurance and process optimization.

Job Qualifications:

•

Current enrollment in a college or university program in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.

•

Strong interest in water treatment and environmental sustainability.

•

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.

•

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols (preferred)*
