Under supervision of the Chief Water Operator, assists in maintaining the water distribution system and facilities.
- Assists with maintaining and repair water distribution system including fire hydrants and valves, meters, meter pits and other connections
- Perform Missouri One Call locates
- Assist with monthly meter reads
- Maintains records and files related to daily assignments
- Complete and submit all DNR required sampling, lab work and reporting
- Sets up traffic safety zones when required
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and repair to assigned vehicles and equipment
- Prompt and regular attendance is required for this position
- Other duties as assigned

- Help other team members accomplish tasks
- Assist in other departments, as required

- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain class I Water Operator/Distribution certification within 18 months
- Successful completion of background check
- Valid Driver’s License required w/clean driving record
- Safe methods of lifting heavy objects
- Skilled in the proper use of basic hand and power tools
- Must have good mechanical ability

Some adverse working conditions exist within this position. The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, including temperature extremes.
