Water Distribution Operator

Southside Public Water Authority is currently accepting applications for a full time water operator.

Pay will be $18-$26 per hour based on experience and licenses held, if applicable. This position includes periods of being on-call to respond to customer needs after hours and on weekends. Arkansas water distribution license not required, but is preferred. CDL and backhoe/excavator experience preferred.

Daily duties include water and wastewater leak repair; new service installations; and general labor related to overall system needs. In order to qualify, applicants:

- Must hold a valid Arkansas driver’s license

- Must be 18 years or older

- Must live within a 15-mile radius of Southside, AR

- Must be willing to obtain Arkansas water operator licensing within 3 years, if not currently licensed

- Must be willing to obtain a CDL within 3 years

- Must be able to perform manual labor, including lifting 50+lbs

- Must be willing to work outside in varying types of weather/elements

- Must be available for periods of being on-call to respond to system needs after hours & on weekends
