Position represents consolidation of water logistics activities and the establishment and maintenance of a defined network in order to execute commercial and logistical strategies related to fluid hauling management. This function also allows Oxy field operations to concentrate and implement efficiencies on other categories.
Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Water Logistics Specialist within our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management Business Unit based in Midland, Texas .
Position represents consolidation of water logistics activities and the establishment and maintenance of a defined network in order to execute commercial and logistical strategies related to fluid hauling management. This function also allows Oxy field operations to concentrate and implement efficiencies on other categories.
Responsible for executing fluid hauling and water disposal strategy by assisting management and associates to ensure asset are available as needed. Job entails heavy focus of networking with Oxy field operations, trucking companies, supply chain, and management with excellent service quality.
Business acumen required to understand trucking companies’ rates, management and integrity to ensure they correspond with Oxy’s culture for a long-term partnership.
Job emphasis on logistics including assets availability, contracts, pricing, and reporting. The ability to accurately track water volumes and truck usage and provide KPI information to all stake holders. The ability to utilize billing (SAP) and production system to capture needed information. Position requires working with the water logistics team and operations to ensure Oxy can meet its safety, production, downtime and cost goals, including any impacts from other third-party contractors.
Position must also maintain, grow and strengthen relations with existing vendors as well as evaluate and recommend the onboarding of new vendors at all levels of hierarchy.
Problem solving, decision-making abilities, multi-tasking, creativity and teamwork are required.
- Use of SAP financial software and the general ledger account structure. Provide Financial reports on fluid hauling spends. Making recommendations and help in decision making regarding future development and changes to the fluid hauling program.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal personnel to ensure efficiency and accuracy on payments. Work with the fluid hauling team and management to further the program with the company.
- Strong understanding of the dispatch systems and ability to rollout new programs and areas within the applications.
- Provide assistance to internal and external customers concerning invoices, data management, and other audit requirements. Involvement in audits and using information to better the program.
- Work with the water logistics coordinators and other teams to ensure water hauling and disposal are being managed appropriately
- Assist and support operations teams as needed in water transportation
- Maintain extensive databases or use spreadsheets to conduct reviews of various data points. Tracking of KPIs and providing key data points to improve the business.
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Follow all company procedures and established guidelines
- 5 or more years of Oil field related experience
- 2 years of financial or accounting experience
- Experience with SAP and the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong analytical, computer (MS Office suite), and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships
- Displays professional and mature business intelligence and the ability to lead by example
- Ability to perform in both an office or field environment
