Job Summary
Warehouse material handling and logistics.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by observing safety and security procedures, and reporting/correcting potentially unsafe conditions.
•
Proper Pre-Ops on equipment Daily/fill out operating procedures books.
•
Set up Next Shift: spot supplies, make up straps, flat cars spotted as needed etc.
•
Stay with next shift as coverage is needed.
•
Implement business objectives, strategies, and plans.
•
Responsible for the daily shift operation of yard.
•
Fill out the daily sheet and communicate when supplies come in and out.
•
Task Train new control operators as needed.
•
Unload and put supplies in properly designated areas when unloaded in a timely fashion.
•
Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments, including Administration, and Maintenance.
•
Develop and implement efficiency improvement initiatives.
•
Monitor and control waste associated with the operations.
•
Coordinate priorities to ensure critical work is accomplished.
•
Maintain efficient operation skills on all yard Equipment. Locomotive, Telehandler, Skid Steer, Sweeper, End loader etc.
•
Monitor the condition of the yard to ensure an increased availability of material handling.
•
Perform the maintenance functions on all equipment Fuel Equipment /add fluid as needed.
•
Closely monitor the cleanliness of yard area to ensure there are no hazards.
•
Will maintain communication and relay all vital information shift to shift.
•
Inform supervisor on all supplies daily.
•
Perform responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies, procedures and guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities
•
At times, may make deliveries to specified locations throughout Tunnel Ridge facilities.
•
Completes any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Qualifications
•
Job requires knowledge of facilities layout, forklift handling, warehouse supplies and finished parts.
•
Needs to have computer knowledge and experience with Oracle is preferred.
•
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to cover all shifts.
•
Ability to work with other departments, vendors, and other warehouse employees to effectively and efficiently expedite orders.
Working Conditions
Site specific PPE required. Also involves heavy lifting. Must be able to lift, carry, push tools, materials and supplies 50 lbs - 100 lbs regularly. Must be able to walk, bend, climb, reach, and crawl as necessary.
