Jo b Summary:
The Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing, implementing, and leading all aspects of HSE strategy and programs across the organization. This role ensures the company’s unwavering commitment to a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance while aligning with the company’s core values of servant leadership and operational excellence.
The VP, HSE will drive continuous improvement in safety performance, lead a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support field operations in fostering an environment where safety is deeply embedded in daily behaviors and business practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute the HSE vision, strategy, and programs that align with organizational goals, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
•Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on all OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local safety and environmental requirements.
•Lead and foster a culture of servant leadership — prioritizing the safety, growth, and well-being of employees.
•Oversee and manage all corporate safety programs, training, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
•Ensure all required HSE certifications, documentation, and reporting are current and compliant with regulatory agencies.
•Provide strategic leadership and oversight of environmental sustainability initiatives.
•Lead development and delivery of safety training programs, including OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, Competent Person Training, and others as required.
•Collaborate with Operations, HR, Legal, and other leaders to promote employee engagement around safety.
•Utilize strong computer skills to leverage data, safety management systems, and reporting tools for real-time visibility and decision-making.
•Analyze incident data to identify trends and develop proactive solutions to mitigate risk.
•Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, emerging safety technologies, and regulatory changes.
•Partner with field leadership to perform regular site visits and audits, ensuring compliance and promoting a hands-on safety culture.
•Lead crisis response and emergency preparedness planning and training.
•Provide executive-level reporting on safety performance metrics and progress toward company goals.

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
•Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Health & Safety, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive leadership role within commercial construction, industrial services, or related industries.
•OSHA 500/501 Trainer Certification highly preferred.
•Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required.
•Other desired certifications: CHST, ASP, CIH, CSHM, or equivalent.
•First Aid/CPR Instructor certification a plus.
•Demonstrated history of successfully managing multi-site safety programs in a fast-paced construction or industrial services environment.
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, access confined spaces, and observe field operations in varied environments.
•Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
•Extensive travel to regional offices and job sites required (estimated 50%+ travel).
