Job Description:
Reporting to the EVP- Operations & Sustainability, the Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability will act as a valuable partner to the business as it relates to EHSS programs and processes. This role will work closely with the senior management team to ensure continuously improving EHSS performance. This position is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of effective EHSS policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives that culminate in a culture of sustainable and consistent safe work performance, as well as overall reduction in risk exposure to the enterprise.
The Day to
Day:* Work with all parts of the organization to ensure focus, training, behaviors and reporting are in place to ensure a safe foundation for all its people.
•Develop and implement SSR’s global EHS strategy, management system, processes and tools.
•Ensure a robust set of leading indicators to focus on EHSS risk education, compliance, and strong EHS and Sustainability results.
•Collaborate with operational leaders to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
•Implement innovative approaches to reducing EHSS risk and advancing Sustainability goals across SSR’s global footprint.
•Develop and implement policies, procedures, and governance/auditing programs to ensure compliance with multinational EHSS laws, regulations, and standards.
•Oversee and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant global regulations in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements.
•Develop and provide regular metric reporting to measure effectiveness of compliance and training programs.
•Ensure incident response plans are in place, all reporting requirements are met, and maintain a process for capturing key learnings from significant incidents.
•Collaborate with insurance providers to understand and address key areas of risk.
•Partner with General Managers, Project Managers and Safety Managers to interpret, evaluate and provide technical guidance on project safety requirements, accident investigation and implementing corrective action measures.
•Manage the environmental program capabilities, including corporate environmental contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
•Build and maintain programs for community and stakeholder engagement to build a positive impact.
•Provide EHSS due diligence support and guidance for transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, real property sales, new site development and site decommissioning and closure activities.
•Communicate EHSS performance, liabilities and risk to senior executive leaders and other key stakeholders.
•Manage annual operating budget, capital, and expense in support of EHSS goals and objectives.
•Build and develop a high-performing team while encouraging open communication and talent development
Is This You?* Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in management or EHS technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
•A minimum of 10-15 years of related experience.
•Minimum of 5-10 years of leadership experience as a supervisor or equivalent.
•Sound knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulatory and statutory requirements
•Ability to work in virtual cross-regional and cross-functional teams, translate complex situations into simple working solutions, manage complexity, collaborate with all levels of management and influence decision-making across a matrix organization.
•Expert technical knowledge in EHS & Sustainability disciplines.
•Strong negotiation and creative problem-solving skills.
•Mature business skills such as ability to organize, lead, motivate and support networks of functional teams at multiple, geographically dispersed locations.
•Capable of establishing effective relationships and interfaces with key partners, stakeholders, and professionals.
•Proven ability to focus on long term strategic growth goals while simultaneously managing short term tactical objectives.
•Innovator with a sense of urgency thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
•Extensive experience partnering with cross-functional business leaders.

For applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $250,000 to $315,000Benefits: 401(k); medical/dental/vision insurance; employee share purchase plan, PTO, STI and LTI.
