Provides reliable and continuous service by ensuring vegetation clearances for all electrical facilities in coordination with vegetation clearing.
- Conduct field assessments to identify and evaluate vegetation risks near utility
- Implement vegetation management plans to prevent interference with power lines, pipelines, or other utility assets.
- Operate and maintain equipment for vegetation control, such as herbicide applicators, chainsaws, and brush cutters.
- Apply herbicides and other approved chemicals in accordance with regulatory guidelines and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with utility crews and contractors to schedule and coordinate vegetation management activities.
- Respond to vegetation-related emergencies, such as storm damage or fallen trees, to ensure a rapid and effective resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of vegetation management activities, including herbicide usage, equipment maintenance, and inspection reports.
- Stay informed about industry’s best practices, environmental regulations, and emerging technologies in vegetation management.
- Educate and communicate with the public regarding vegetation management practices and the importance of safety around utility infrastructure.

A Right of Way Technician primarily works in a field setting. This role may require extensive overtime, especially during peak periods or emergencies.
- Class A CDL Commercial Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in forestry, horticulture, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in vegetation management or a related field, preferably within the utility or environmental sector.
- Knowledge of plant identification, growth patterns, and the environmental impact of vegetation control measures.
- Ability to operate and maintain vegetation management equipment safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards related to vegetation management.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and the public.
