Assist with the development and implementation of BIM/VDC services on Austin Commercial Projects. Participate in Austin Commercial marketing efforts providing BIM/VDC deliverables. Apply knowledge in construction terminology and processes; construction materials and systems; drawing and specifications; as well as project delivery methods, including Construction Manager at Risk (CMR), Design-Bid-Build (DBB), and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). Identify internal policies that impact BIM/VDC services; and requirements in technical specifications that impact BIM/VDC services. Implement BIM/VDC services and define trade responsibility. Create project specific BIM/VDC contract language. Create and execute BIM/VDC consultant agreements. Create models including site logistics, structure, interior/exterior architecture, and MEP/FP systems as needed; and verify model quality and accuracy. Perform model revisions and manage model distribution. Create custom model components and families. Create as-built models. Apply knowledge in planning and scheduling concepts and construction work sequencing. Create, revise, and maintain 4D schedules. Develop and maintain BIM/VDC coordination schedules on assigned projects. Manage and distribute BIM/VDC coordination files on assigned projects. Lead the BIM/VDC coordination effort. Identify areas of conflict and lead conflict resolution. Track and report on BIM/VDC coordination progress and efficiency. Create and distribute coordination meeting minutes. Manage BIM/VDC shop and field use drawing production and review. Create dimensioned drawings from the model for field use. Lead BIM/VDC layout on assigned projects; and field as-built validation and verification. Ensure quality control principles are followed. Investigate and validate models for model-based quantity takeoff. Create model-based quantity surveys for estimate verification. Model components as needed for accurate quantity takeoff. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of BIM/VDC content. Develop and maintain positive customer/client/project team satisfaction. Work to maintain a positive team attitude and global thinking.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field and 2 years of Commercial Construction experience as a VDC Engineer, Field Engineer, or Project Engineer. Experience must include working with construction related BIM/VDC processes; working with BIM/VDC software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Construction Cloud, Bentley Synchro, Drone Deploy, Bluebeam, CMiC, MS Office, BIM 360 Field, Newforma Konnekt, OpenSpace, SiteAware, Assemble, Adobe Photoshop, and Navvis IVION; and applying project delivery methods, including CMR, DBB, and IPD.
