Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum 3-5 years experience operating autofold, laser, press brake/turret or other metal fabrication tools

- Good knowledge of fabrication machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs

- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-task

- Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools

- Read and understand work orders and job schedules

- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test

- Must be able to effectively read, write and speak the English language

- Ability to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat and lift

- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently, & lift 70 pounds occasionally

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

- Safe operation of autofold, press brake, shear and various other tools used to complete project.

- Create quality and accurate cuts/bends/folds according to blueprints.

- Cut and label all sheet metal for jobs on the floor.

- Use welding and other metal processing equipment a plus.

- Use measuring equipment such as tape measure, micrometer, calipers, square, protractor, etc…

- Performs basic math and verifies job requirements, specifications, and maintains quality standards.

- Follow and enforce all VDI safety rules and regulations

- Ensure equipment is properly set-up & used in a safe manner & that all safety devices are in use.

- Operate fork lift, if required and certified.

- Performs inspections on product before, during, and after the build following VDI’s standards.

- Monitor functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.

- Perform basic and preventative maintenance and repair as required.

- Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedules

- Other duties as assigned.
