Position Summary:
Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects from front end engineering to project buy out.
Key Responsibilities:•Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of multiple development functions, consultants, technicians, construction management, and be accountable for the execution and performance of the project
•Work closely with Development and Construction to accomplish company goals
•Assist in development of the project budget and all phases of the project for compliance with the budgetary goals
•Support and develop key project relationships with vendors, clients, and development parties
•Direct all facets of each project from pre-construction and initial construction efforts to project buy-out
•Work with all construction management and clients to complete the project on schedule
•Oversee management of project schedule
•Develop site logistics plans with construction manager
•Assist with constructability reviews during engineering phases
•Support construction manager in the set-up of jobsite and mobilization
•Establish the safety plan at the jobsite with corporate safety department
•Assist with management of employee relations and field personnel/subcontractors
•Monitor and update project projections monthly
•Implement change management procedure in accordance with company policy and contract
•Support job-site budgets and AR/AP
•Facilitate meetings with project team
•Supervise and mentor project job site staff
•Support site team with RFIs and ensure submittals are being appropriately processed by the procedures established by contracts
•Manage jobsite relations and communicate needs with the Engineer of Record
•Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, partners, and local labor
•Understand, comply, and enforce Discovery standards and procedures
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Minimum 10 years’ proven experience as a construction project manager w/at least 5 years on Solar construction projects
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil preferred) or Construction Management
•In-depth understanding of construction procedures and materials and project management principles
•Familiarity with quality, health, and safety standards
•Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
•Must be willing and able to travel as needed to job sites, vendor sites, engineering offices, etc., as required
Work Environments / Physical Requirements:
•This job operates primarily in a professional office setting requiring travel as required.
•This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
•Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
•Must be able to traverse construction job sites as needed including ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces and wear personal protective gear correctly
