The Utility Scale Solar Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, execution, and completion of large-scale solar energy projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, contractors, stakeholders, and clients.

- Project Planning & Development
- Lead project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting for utility-scale solar installations.
- Oversee site selection, permitting, environmental studies, and interconnection processes.
- Develop risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Project Execution & Management
- Direct and coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities.
- Manage contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Ensure projects comply with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Track project progress, budgets, and timelines, reporting regularly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Serve as the main point of contact with utility companies, regulators, investors, and local authorities.
- Facilitate communication between cross-functional internal teams (engineering, finance, legal, operations).
- Manage project staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
- Financial & Compliance Oversight
- Monitor project financials, cost controls, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local permitting, environmental, and interconnection requirements.
- Support financing, billing/invoicing.
- Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of project management experience in renewable energy, preferably utility-scale solar.
- Strong knowledge of EPC processes, permitting, interconnection, and utility regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and complex project schedules.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (ProCore or similar).
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- NFP 70E Certification required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of solar PV systems, grid interconnection, and energy markets.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Office and field-based work, with frequent travel to project sites.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions.
