Truck Shop Mechanic

RES Coal LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Truck Shop Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy-duty trucks.

· Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire replacements.

· Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems.

· Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan.

· Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.

· Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.

· Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs.

· Collaborate with other mechanics and shop personnel to complete tasks efficiently.

· Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.

· Perform welding repairs on trucks and aluminum beds as needed.

· Assist in rebuilding heavy equipment components under the direction of the supervisor

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or certification is a plus.

· Minimum 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanic.

· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

· Experience using diagnostic tools and repair software.

· Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.

· Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding conditions.

· Valid driver’s license; CDL B or willingness to attain

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
