Job Summary Energo is seeking a positive, goal-oriented Diesel Truck Mechanic for our fleet. Our mechanics operate in a fast-paced 365-day environment and are an integral part of our organization. The candidate must possess a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to heavy-duty diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and fleet maintenance operations. The candidate must possess excellent communication, listening, and time-management skills, and be a team player.
Job Description
•Repair and maintain vehicles and diesel equipment
•Maintain fleet operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; adjustments and alignments; keeping accurate records
•Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the DOT, company and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
•Perform preventive maintenance and repairs such as brakes, air systems, air condition repairs etc.
•Engine diagnostics using computers
•Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacture's specifications and legislated regulations
Certification Requirements
1.Must be qualified to inspect and repair brakes under FMCSA regulation 49 CFR §396.25. This requirement as satisfied by:
•Completing a certified brake training program, or
•Documenting a minimum of one (1) year of appropriate brake repair and inspection experience in a relevant work setting
2.ASE Certification as issued by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) by passing T2-T8 exams:
•T5: Suspension & Steering
•T6: Electrical/Electronic Systems
•T8: Preventive Maintenance
•T1 & T3: Gasoline Engines and Drivetrain
3.EPA Section 609 Certification for working with refrigerants in HVAC systems
Job Requirements
•Valid and clean CDL Class A or Class B Driver’s License with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
•Minimum five (5) years’ experience working for a fuel company as a diesel truck mechanic
•Expert in diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
•Interpret work orders and technical manuals
•Flexible work schedule, including extended hours, as necessary
•Able to work in a fast-paced work environment
•The ability to work alone or as a team
•The ability to keep up with changing technology and updates
