Summary
Performs multimodal transportation studies and analyses, prepares and presents transportation plans and reports, provides support for internal projects, communicates directly with clients. Gathers and analyzes data, writes plans and technical sections of reports, creates supporting materials, and collaborates with senior staff to market transportation planning services.
Essential Functions
•Prepares multimodal concepts, reports, and plans for public agencies
•Performs safety analysis
•Leads safe routes to school evaluations and similar studies
•Evaluates transportation systems and provides recommendations to enhance pedestrian, bicycle, transit and automobile travel and safety for all users.
•Recommends modifications to current plans to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, reduce cost, and implement other improvements.
•Prepares concepts for new infrastructure such as mixed use paths, crossing treatments, modern cycling facilities, transit stops, and related facilities.
•Presents plans to agencies, community groups, and clients
•Oversees the implementation of proposed changes and developments.
•Adheres to timeline and budgetary constraints.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to write clear reports, communicate findings, and articulate proposals and approaches.
•Understanding of multimodal transportation and planning practices.
•Ability to analyze safety and traffic engineering principals using industry standard software.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to create high quality graphic based reports.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
•Possesses high attention to detail.

Education and ExperienceRequirements
Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate discipline is required. Two (2) years of related experience is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
None required. AICP is desirable.
