Position Summary
As an Engineer within our Transmission Grid Operations (TGO) group at Oncor, you’re responsible for providing engineering and technical support to Transmission Grid Operations, including support for real-time grid operations and outage planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing technical support to real-time grid operations during system emergencies and forced outage conditions.
- Responsible for performing transmission reliability studies (e.g., power flow and contingency analysis) in the operating horizon to support real-time grid operations and outage planning.
- Responsible for analyzing proposed transmission outages to identify alternative methods to obtain otherwise infeasible outages (e.g., determining the maximum allowable load, avoiding specific outage conflicts, reconfiguring the transmission system, etc.).
- Responsible for developing and maintaining operating procedures and plans to ensure the reliable operation of the grid.
- Responsible for additional tasks that are essential to reliable grid operations, as assigned.
- Effectively communicate and resolve issues relevant to TGO by working with other departments at Oncor, and external entities such as Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and adjacent Transmission Operators.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with the Oncor transmission system.
- Familiarity with ERCOT practices associated with transmission modeling and power flow assessment, including ERCOT Guides and Protocols and other binding documents.
- Strong interpersonal communication.- Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering required.
- Engineer: 2+ years of work-related experience required. - Staff Engineer: 4+ years of work-related experience required. - Senior Engineer: 6+ years of work-related experience required.
