Reporting to the Sr. Director, Total Rewards, the Total Rewards Specialist will assist with the day-to-day administration of all company benefit programs for employees across our US business.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the company’s various benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, short term disability, long term disability, EAP, Workers’ Compensation and commuter benefits;
- Act as a point of contact for escalated employee benefit questions;
- Assist in developing and implementing a benefits integration strategy in the context of acquisition of new assets and employees;
- Support budgeting process during the annual planning process;
- Prepare and/or participate in government filings, plan audits, or other reporting requirements as necessary;
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes and industry developments;
- Work with Manager in developing communications designed to keep employees informed of company benefits and updates;
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing health and benefit fairs, open enrollments, wellness programs, and return to work programs;
- Assist with the design and development of benefit policies and plans.
- In depth knowledge of government regulations as they apply to health and welfare programs;
- Experience working with and partnering with internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to adapt to different styles and develop cooperative relationships with employees at all levels in the organization;
- Demonstrated success in working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor and exercising tact and good judgment;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field;
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in benefits administration;
- Strong knowledge of US benefits practices;
- Expert use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required and experience working with Ultipro (HRIS) is an asset.
