Position Summary

The Tool Maintenance position is tasked with designing, machining, and maintaining close-tolerance tooling for presses used in metal fabrication. This role involves crafting precise tools to exact specifications, ensuring high performance and efficiency in producing perforated metal products. It requires expertise in machining, metal fabrication, and meticulous attention to detail to support consistent, high-volume manufacturing.

Primary Accountabilities (Essential duties)

- Comply with all Safety rules and regulations

- Proper operation of Haas CNC machine

- Operation of all Tool room equipment

- Training / Tutoring of “B” position personnel

- Fabrication of tooling per example or drawing

- Inspect and determine appropriate level of repair for worn/damaged tools

- Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

- Familiarity with some Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry

- Read precision measuring equipment / tools within .0005”

- Good eye / hand / foot coordination

- Attention to detail

- Ability to do precision, tedious and repetitive work

- Tooling blueprint reading

· Basic understanding of Haas program

Preferred Skills

- CNC Machining experience

- Machine shop equipment operation

- Familiarity with metal working and metal properties

- General knowledge of heat treatment process

Education / Experience

- High School Diploma

- Strong mechanical aptitude

- 2-5 years in position “B”, or equivalent and Supervisors approval

- Ability to quickly convert decimals to fractions and the reverse

Physical Requirements

This position requires physical activity throughout the workday and prolonged close distance eye focus. Below are percentages of time spent on each activity:

Typical lifting requirements: up to 50-75 lbs on a regular basis

Work environment: Manufacturing floor, may be exposed to varying temperatures, loud noise, and moving machinery

Pay: From $23.78 per hour
