Responsible for the safe troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow job specific Work Instructions which pertain to the job assignment.
- Receive and interpret instructions, work orders, and blueprints covering, scheduled and emergency repair, installations, and inspections of work to be done.
- Operate production machinery.
- Test and inspects equipment for defects and malfunctioning such as misalignment, wear, failure, insufficient lubrication, need for improvements, etc.
- Determine best way of making repairs, replacements, and installations to minimize interruption of production.
- Make permanent or temporary repairs or adjustments as needed and directed.
- Advise supervisor when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage and the status of temporary repairs and constructions.
- Dismantle, clean, repair, adjust, install, assemble, and generally maintain all mechanical equipment to conform to safety and efficient operating conditions.
- Assemble and align gears, bearings, shafts, and other component parts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits.
- Set up and operate simple machine tools such as drill press, pipe threader, power saw, etc. for minor machining operations.
- Babbitt and scrape bearings as required.
- Replace belts, sprockets, chain drives, and other component parts.
- Erect scaffolding and perform simple rigging as needed.
- Install piping, fixtures, new equipment panel boards, etc.
- Connect, set up, and operate torch and welding equipment at all angles to weld joints, cut parts, build up surfaces, fabricate parts, etc.
- Maintain a safe, clean, work area.
- Notify proper authority of abnormal conditions, transporting tools and equipment to work areas, cleaning and properly storing tools, reporting need for supply orders, lubricating equipment, etc.
- Perform all tasks requested by the Supervisor and/or other management personnel.
- Good communication skills – written and verbal
- High School diploma or GED.
- Associate degree in industrial maintenance is preferred.
- 2-5 years of previous experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
- Ability to operate mobile industrial equipment and pass required Company training.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice is required.
