TOOL & DIE MAKER FOR ESTABLISHED COMPANY
Engineering Manufacturing Technologies (“EMT”) is a metal component manufacturer located near Binghamton, NY. Our manufacturing facility is over 130,000 sq. ft. and we employ over 125 personnel. EMT has been in business for over 70 years and our manufacturing processes include Punch Press Stampings, Sheet Metal Fabrications, and CNC Machining & Turned parts. EMT is known as a leader in our industry and our manufacturing facility houses the “most state of the art” equipment. Our continued growth in the automotive, aerospace, commercial/industrial, DOD, firearm, and pharmaceutical industries requires EMT to hire an experienced Tool & Die Maker.
The person we hire will be experienced in operating machinery to make machine parts and tools. We are looking for a self-starter who has the ability to:
· Interprets blueprints or design specifications to develop tools and dies.
· Operates and maintains machines including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
· Files, grinds, shims and adjusts different parts to properly fit them together.
· Inspects finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity and defects.
· Performs quality checks on completed tools and dies to ensure they are function ready.
· Conducts test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications.
· Modifies and repairs tools, dies, fixtures and gauges as required.
· Coordinates with engineers and other production staff to understand specific requirements and to troubleshoot problems.
· Operates all equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
We are seeking an individual who is a mechanical innovator and has the drive and ability to get the job done! If you are the person we are looking for you will enjoy:
· High School Diploma or GED and formalized vocational training or journeyman certification in tool & die making and (5) five years of machining experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
· Knowledge of tooling principles, including precision measurement, blueprint reading and metallurgy.
· Strong understanding of CAD software, CNC programming and ability to troubleshoot complex tooling issues.
· Detail oriented and thoroughly complete all work tasks.
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
