Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will operate manual mills and lathes to fabricate, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, and custom parts to support production and development operations. This role requires precision machining skills, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a strong understanding of metalworking techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
•Set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, hone, and other conventional machine tools.
•Manufacture and repair tooling, fixtures, jigs, and dies to precise specifications.
•Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine machining requirements.
•Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure conformance to specifications.
•Collaborate with engineers, tool designers, and production teams to develop efficient solutions for tooling requirements.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
•Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as necessary.
•Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.
Requirements:
•High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school certification preferred.
•Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manual machining, preferably in a tooling or die-making environment.
•Proficient in the operation of manual mills, lathes, and other conventional machine shop equipment.
•Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, feeds, speeds, and cutting tools.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
•Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
•Basic knowledge of heat treatment processes and material properties is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with die maintenance and repair.
•Familiarity with CNC equipment and programming is a plus.
•Welding, fabrication, or surface grinding experience.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
•Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
•Use hands and arms to manipulate tools and materials with precision.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
