YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the TMA Superintendent, you will be part of the Tailings Management Area Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
•The TMA Supervisor is the direct point of contact for construction crew, consultants, contractors, and the TMA. Their primary role is to ensure a safe day-to-day operation and execution of all TMA activities
•Be responsible for actively identifying all potential hazards and immediately bringing them to the attention of the Senior Supervisors and Superintendent and safety to mitigate them in a timely manner
•Be involved in the day-to-day planning of all TMA activities including construction and tailings operation
•Be actively involved in the daily forecasting of construction material requirements
•Ensure that all visitors/contractors coming to the TMA have the right health and safety training, PPE and certification to operate safely at the TMA
•Ensure all safety controls are in place during all TMA activities
•Be aware of TMA Supervisors responsibilities within the OMS
•Coordinate with site services dewatering team on any dewatering activity either at the seepage ponds or anywhere around the TMA
•Understand tailings & water processes, plans and activities to enable close collaboration with engineers, environment, mill, mine operations and maintenance personnel in preparing and coordinating safe and effective operations
•Proactively identify issues and work collaboratively to resolve them to minimize impacts to operations
•Support TMA Superintendent with monitoring and inspection of safety and performance of tailings and water dams (through inspection reports/checklists)
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•College Diploma, and/or relevant experience in similar field
•5 years of experience working in a large-scale mining environment with five years of management or supervisory experience
•Demonstrated success analyzing and executing large Tailings Construction projects
•Knowledge and understanding of all Ontario health, safety and environmental acts and legislation related to mining operations
•Strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple projects on competing timelines
•Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

•Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
