Tire Mechanic

Our ideal candidate should have previous experience as a Tire technician.

The Tire Mechanic will be DOT Certified. We are looking for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics. Responsible for repairing, replacing, and maintaining tires on all DOT Equipment

Job Duties will include but not limited to:

- Preventative maintenance and repair all Tires on Semi-Trailers to meet the standards set forth by DOT

- Install new tires and wheels

- Perform maintenance on tires, Including rotation, balancing repairs and cleaning

- Repair tires

- Remove and replace hubs

- Clean up work area at the end of shift

- Keep work areas neat and orderly

- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions

- Organizing materials to have more effective use of space

- Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner

- Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed

Qualifications

- DOT certifications

- Must pass a medical physical, drug screen and background check

- Must be punctual and good attendance required for this position

- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable

- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus

- Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands

- Diesel Mechanic school or certification a plus

Job Expectations

Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.

Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.

- Work Environment: Scrap yard, large equipment metal processing area

- Equipment & Tools: Yard equipment, electrical Safety equipment, hand tools, and PPE specialized for electricians.
